you know what these retired California cops and teachers do after getting their plush huge pensions?.

Buddy of mine down the road has a military pension, a cop's pension, and a teacher's pension.

In addition to his big house in Santa Cruz County with half a dozen cars and as many trucks, mobile home, tractors, and machine tools, he has a big place in Tahoe. Oh, did I mention that is wife is a retired CPS bureaucrat?

I was sitting out on my board at 41st ave in Santa Cruz a few months back having a nice conversation with a 54 year old retired gradeschool principle who collects a full salary while he surfs.

Buddy of mine down the road has a military pension, a cop’s pension, and a teacher’s pension.

In addition to his big house in Santa Cruz County with half a dozen cars and as many trucks, mobile home, tractors, and machine tools, he has a big place in Tahoe. Oh, did I mention that is wife is a retired CPS bureaucrat?”

Being in our 70’s, we know several couples who are retired teachers/ed administrators.

Most of them are on vacation and out of town/state/country well over 50% of the calendar year.

My wife used to get mad at me when I voted no because of what she felt were underpaid teachers and hurting the children with no votes.

Starting about 10 years ago, she woke up to what I had been complaining about because of these high living retirees.

Besides the vacations, she calls them the new Beamer, Lexus, Acura and even Jag owners like your buddy.

I life in a town in Alameda County with many retired cops, firemen, bureaucrats, UC Professors, Public Utilty workers and other assorted current and retired state Workers, many who are (cough) disabled, too.

Boats
BMW/Mercedes/brand new trucks
RV’s
Remodeled homes
Lavish vacations

I am not a cop hater in any sense, I appreciate their service, the issue is that they DO NOT FUND THEIR OWN RETIREMENTS in FULL.

401(K) is the answer, with a contribution. It would fix a lot, but not likely with a Super-majority in Sacramento and the continued ability to force union members dues out of their paychecks.
