I expect post-holiday layoffs to be EPIC and that we’ll climb back into the 9% range for unemployment.

Oh’ and then there will be calls for another stimulus only this time I’m quitting my job and will sit on my ass for two years if it’s offered.

Except that the Obamugabe-run BLS keeps shrinking the 'universe of available jobs vs job seekers' so that the unemployment number doesn't look so bad. If the same size 'universe of available jobs' is used that was in use the day Bush left office, REAL unemployment would be in the 20% range, and THAT just can't be allowed to tarnish his halo............................

I expect you're right. My employer announced back in September that layoff's would be likely by end of year unless economic conditions changed.

Looks like they're changing alright, and not for the better now that Obummer's been re-elected. I'm guessing they'll do layoff's somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas, just as they did last year.

In the last year, my employer has gone from just over 14,000 employees to just under 11,000 employees through layoff's and attrition (people retiring/finding jobs elsewhere.) It's damn' hard to get anything done right now with I.T. being literally gutted and they're threatening more layoff's.

Going to be an interesting end of year, Thanks Obama Supporters!

Yep. I told my husband last night, around February, it’s gonna hit the fan. By then, all seasonal Target, WalMart, Toys R Us, etc., retail workers will have no jobs.

We have been out to eat twice this week for various reasons and it has been stunning that we are literally the only people in the restaurant or one other family is there. We overheard the other family last night expressing their bewilderment and confusion about the election.

I call February to be a bleak, bad month.

QE3 has no limit this time. Oboma can print all the money he wants at any time (and he is). Right now, they're printing 4 billion a month to keep the welfare recipients fed and keep the unemployment numbers down (well, at least until the election was over).

Oboma screwed up bad. Real bad. Our country, if it survives, is going to be in shambles for generations. It was really, really stupid for the American voters to put a social parasite in charge of the countries wallet.

This sort of thing is going to be happening a LOT more, and the unemployment rate won’t stop at 9%.

This will not be a “double-dip” recession that “just happened”. What we have been facing and living through is a DEPRESSION, though none will call it by its name. And it was engineered, with the express intent of creating a crisis so large, so pervasive, and so pernicious, that economic collapse was the only possible outcome.

If anybody recalls the track of the first two terms of FDR and the days of the establishment of the New Deal, an exercise in the micromanagement of business and industry by government fiat, first the Republican opponent in 1936 was shamelessly demonized, resulting in an overwhelming defeat, then in FDR’s second term, by 1938 the economy was MUCH worse off than it was in 1932, when it was already a depression.

Only the fact that Great Britain was ramping up to resist Nazi Germany’s expansion into military conquest of all of Europe, and needed HUGE quantities of war materials (for which they were hauling vast amounts of silver bullion to the US to reimburse US manufacturers). FDR’s New Deal economy could get the additional capital to continue their distribution of largesse to the “downtrodden” masses here in the US. The excess production that was STILL rolling off the farmlands at depressed prices could now be sold profitably to the British and the Empire members around the world. Eventually, with the trigger of Pearl Harbor, an unbelievably massive army could be conscripted to fight the “Axis”. Those young men, and a surprising number of young women, the “Greatest Generation”, were sent off to fight and die in one of the most cynical exercises of policy to dispose of “excess” persons otherwise unemployable ever to be exerted in America.

Remember, we still have conscription law in place, and there is a threat looming as large as the “Axis” powers hanging over the world.

And the Current Occupant of the White Hut has indicated that if push comes to shove, he will take their side.

The Muslin Brotherhood has a sure partner.

Israel, not so much.

And by "9%" you mean an actual rate of 20%-25%, no?
