You're right. They were correct on their positions on the issues, but they made boneheaded statements in the middle of a campaign and that cost us two sure Senate seats. We need politically savvy candidates who will know what to say and how to say it in a way that doesn't piss off over 50% of the voting electorate. Yes, I know Mourdock was a Tea Party darling, but I'm sorry, he said a stupid thing and that blew the campaign up.
