I understand your distress. The one constant in my life has always been love of country and I do not feel it any longer. This is not the same country I was born in. There’s been an incredible amount of deterioration in just a generation or two. This country has been balkanized to a degree. With entire sections of it living as less that animals without even the good grace to mow the lawn or see that children are well tended to. It is disgraceful.

It’s not that I do not love America, but it is more of an idea and a wish now.

Damn formosa!! You could have been reading my mind when you wrote out your feelings on that.

Yesterday I wrestled through day, long tear how much I now gated America. Not the land...not what she was meant to stand for, but what she has become.

I agree with the veteran who posted here. I will fly a flag again IF the day ever comes it’s appropriate, but I do not believe that will ever be the case again.

My ancestors fought in the Revolution to build a great nation. I mourn DEEPLY that I was born in the generation to watch her fall....
