When I was in college in 1973, we took a field trip to Mobile. One of the places we visited was the state docks. When we got there the place was absolutely covered with tanks and other armored vehicles. I would guess more than a thousand.
Our professor sent me and another student to ask at one of the ships, what was going on. It turned out they were going to Israel.
I suspect, in fact I am sure that Obama will not support Israel in that way. They will be on their own if they get into another conflict.
One thing which surprised me is I read on another post, that 69% if Jews voted for Obama.
I am coming more to the opinion that there has been a war scheduled in the middle east, maybe by spring/summer. Iran, Israel, Russia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and maybe even Turkey will be involved. Obama's assignment is to keep us out, and get us out of Afghanistan before it happens.
The need to hedge against that sort of scenario from recurring is why Israel has such a large nuclear stockpile. It’s also the reason why they made clear following the 73 War that if they felt they were going down they’d train their nukes on the Soviet Union. Motivated the Sovs to keep their ME clients (Libya, Syria, Iran and the Palis) in line pretty well.
In this day and age I think Israel would use it’s nukes to blackmail the US into providing support. We have nukes, we really don’t want to use them, so send us support. Funny enough I don’t have much of a problem with them doing that right now.
And if Bibi were to pop a nuke off and incinerate an isolated Iranian military facility, just to demonstrate they could, I’d hang a Star of David flag outside m house just as soon as I could lay hands on one.
