Turns out that my little township had some of the highest turnout in the state. Just over 70% at my precinct and 69% at the other precinct in this township. However, turnout was down some 20% for the county which did go for Romney.

The simple fact is that Romney/Ryan couldn’t energize the same amount of conservatives to the polls as Palin

Conservatism didn’t take a hit here. People didn’t flock to the polls for freebies as some are saying. The man promising the goodies fell 10 million short of his last election.
What I heard from non- political junkies, just average people, was that “they hated Obama but didn’t trust Romney”
Also my wife works with a few Born again Christians who told her they and their friends could not vote for a Mormon
They sat it out.I’m sure it was the same all over the country.

So it wasn’t Conservatism that took a hit or its numbers shrinking. It’s what the GOPe tried to pass off as Conservative.
It didn’t pass the smell test.
