You must have missed the second clause of her third sentence.

Because LBJ had just created the biggest vote buying scheme with Great Society. He even said, “I’ll have those n-words voting Democrat for 200 years!”
What was the GOP to do? Flank the Democrats to the left on handouts? Politely tell Blacks that they should refuse cash transfers, and Affirmative Action hiring policies?
The Nixon/Reagan coalition would have worked just fine if immigration laws weren’t amended that made the border as porous as it is today. Now, we just witnessed the completion its destruction.

The only problem is that recently two thirds of our legal immigrants come from Latin American and two thirds of those from Mexico. Illegals are mostly from Mexico and Latin America.

The people that lost us this election were the libertarian and third party voters, and I doubt that they were Hispanics. An author of a recent book about independents was on PBS' NewsHour tonight. She said their turnout was down to 24 %, but they make up 40 % of registered voters. That makes sense with the reduced overall voter turnout.

A majority of Hispanics now support gay marriage,
I remember watching an episode of COPS some years ago and they were in LA arresting a bunch of illegal transvestite prostitutes. One of the cops explained that they do things here that they wouldn't dare do at home.

“I didnt have a single kid who arrived at my house on foot this year.”
Yeah, kind of the sign of the times, kids don’t seem to walk anywhere these days, especially school. When I was a kid I wouldn’t be caught dead being driven anywhere by my parents (unless the weather was horrific).

My best friend is Hispanic, and he's a hardcore Conservative. He is an American, and he has the same concerns as any other American. There isn't some special issue he finds important just because he's Hispanic. I'm assuming this Hispanic vote that we hear about all the time is based on nothing more than illegal immigrants, and those with illegal immigrant relatives who want to make it even easier to invade our nation. Hispanics such as my friend who's family came from Mexico have no more connection to Mexico than I do to England. And while he doesn't know for sure, but suspects that his family came here illegally doesn't make him obligated to support illegal immigration like many others seem to think.

Canada has a merit based immigration system. Ours is based primarily on a kinship system. Chain migration or family reunification drives the vast majority of the 1.2 million legal immigrants that enter this country each year. And our immigration policies are not related to our job or skill needs. During the decade that ended in 2010, which saw the highest number of immigrants in our history, we actually saw a net loss of jobs for the same period.

I am surprised that MacDonald is so ignorant. She's not ignorant. Read the link in the story. She thinks like you that they are mostly hopeless as far as the GOP is concerned.

The people that lost us this election were the libertarian and third party voters, and I doubt that they were Hispanics. That's a ridiculous argument. The people "that lost us this election" were (a) the people who voted for Democrats, and (b)the candidates and party leaders who couldn't convince enough citizens to vote for them. If a candidate and their party can't convince enough people to vote for them then they lose. Mitt Romney failed to attract enough voters, period.
Needless to say the MSM sure helped, as did more than a billion dollars spent mostly in attack ads against him and fellow Republicans. How many ads did you see Libertarians running against Mitt Romney and other Republicans? I think the answer is none. How many attack ads paid for by unions, Planned Parenthood, Emily's List, the DNC, etc. did you see?
A few Republican candidates with ill thought out comments on social issues led to the loss of many less informed young voters. It was incredibly foolish for the Republicans to let themselves be led into the whole "war on women" meme set up by the left. Needless to say the libertarians voters had nothing to do with that bungle.

talking of Latinos as if they were a ‘race’ strikes me as somewhat patronizing and ignorant. no wonder they look askance
at the GOP..

Hispanics that are Protestants are in play, and voted 56% republican in 2004.

“The people that lost us this election were the libertarian and third party voters...”
Mathematically false. There weren’t enough third-party votes to make a difference in any state. Also half the Libertarian and almost all of the Green Party vote comes from would-be Democratic voters.

What can we do to boost the ranks of the Republicans by a few million?

Eastern European like the Poles?
The trouble is throughout history the have nots want what the haves have. That’s the history of the world. Give them the opportunity to take and they will.
Historically, it was done with violence, but today it is peaceable and by law.
