Romney lost because two million voters who came out for McCain stayed home. I called them "Pontius Pilate voters" leading up to the election. I was inspired to do so when I saw many of them on FR saying they would be voting down ballot only.

I supported and voted for Tom Hoefling, a conservative. Like Romney, he didn’t get enough votes to win, but his prospects were never worse than Romney’s.
