New storm bears down on Sandy-battered NYC, NJ

A nor'easter blustered into New York and Jersey on Wednesday, threatening to swamp homes all over again, plunge neighborhoods back into darkness and inflict more misery on tens of thousands of people still reeling from Superstorm Sandy.

Under ordinary circumstances, a storm of this sort wouldn't be a big deal, but large swaths of the landscape were still an open wound, with many of Sandy's victims still mucking out their homes and cars.

Thousands of people in low-lying neighborhoods staggered by the superstorm just over a week ago were warned to clear out, with authorities saying rain, wet snow and 60 mph gusts in the evening could set back the cleanup, topple trees wrenched loose by Sandy, and erase some of the hard-won progress made in restoring electricity to millions of customers.

"I am waiting for the locusts and pestilence next," New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said. "We may take a setback in the next 24 hours."

If allowing people to fully realize the consequences of there choices is damning them, who is responsible for their damnation?

Why am I somehow bad if I treat people who have chosen a path with the tolerance to let them walk it?

The overwhelming majority of NYers want to live in a Nannie state world where faith-based charity is frowned upon and the State redistributes to each based on their need.

Let’s name the winter ‘storms’ now...so much easier to feed the ‘hype machine’.

I hope the people are prepared. If they aren’t, I hope they have somewhere to go and some way to get there.

Let them embrace it...I will not stand in their way.

There is one thing this storm taught me, even out here in the Desert Grasslands - keep at least some bug-out supplies in a waterproof container.

In regards to your comment, I would never wish harm on a fellow American. The several fellow Americans that live in NY an NJ have my prayers and sympathy; the rest, not so much.

God works in mysterious ways! Maybe the mainstream will start reporting the truth about what is really happening in NY and NJ.... now that they don’t have to cover for himself.

They are fellow Americans

They include people who wished Republicans be washed out to sea by a Hurricane. They include people who have rejoiced repeatedly at the suffering in fly over country when nature struck. They include people who wish cancers and death on people they disagree with politically.

I feel bad for the residents but I'm happy for Chris Christie. This will give him another opportunity to suck up to his new pals, Obama and Springsteen:

Excellent...just because a Communist was born here does NOT make him/her a 'fellow American'. Given the opportunity, many of my 'fellow Americans' in blue states would kill me...they have said as much.

In reality, this will cost us all. I can almost see the drooling over federal money happening right now.

That is why chrissy and sissy are letting it get this bad, so they can use our money to “help”.

Good luck with that, Kart.

Thanks to the muslim semi-negro's 3yr depression, I have nothing left to give to anyone even if I were so inclined.

What limited resources I have are staying at home.

It's up to NannyBammy and KissyChrissy now . . .

Yep. They've blown it as far as I'm concerned. They can't put the mask back on; I've already seen what's behind it, and it is not a fellow American.

"Please DONOT Hijack this thread to spew your wish of hell and damnation on the residents of NY and NJ. They are fellow Americans and as the bible says the rain falls on the just and the unjust. Such rants are not what FR is about and is liken to the acts of DUmmies."

Completely in agreement.

However, I might find myself laughing if Chris Christie's weekly truckload delivery of Little Debbie Cakes got held up.

Look they chose to live there. Most of us didn’t.

Do you know of some super secret safe area of the country that doesn't have some sort of natural disaster waiting to happen? Please, share it with us. There's always a drought, a snow storm, a flood, a tornado, an earthquake, a hurricane, mice shutting down the grid, la nina/el nino, heat wave, wildfire, sink holes, tsunami, etc.
