The Lull Before the Civil Unrest Storm

Politics / Social Issues
Nov 07, 2012 - 03:49 AM
By: Jack D Douglas

Vast social revolutions and wars are often preceded by periods of giving up on reforms, despairing withdrawal from public life by the best and brightest,(Going Galt) and even peacefulness which seems to have become the normal condition in spite of deep conflicts and growing crises beneath the surfaces of public life. Often, earlier periods of intense conflicts and crises have been overcome and resolved, so it comes to look like that is the normal in life. This lulls most people into assuming their worse fears cannot happen, but this leads them to lowering their guards against growing conflicts and crises, so small ones can more easily cascade down into massive ones. If people expected they could become vast wars or revolutions or implosions, they would take more precautions to prevent that. But when lulled in expecting the worst cannot happen, the worst than they could ever imagine often explodes suddenly.

The cataclysmic French Revolution came after many decades of attempted reforms and conflicts which people had come to think of as unending. It started with new attempts at reforms, then incidents that did not seem so important, then all of it a sudden it exploded. WWI came after so many decades of peace in Europe, in spite of imperial conflicts around the world and an arms race, that most people thought a major war was impossible. Then a single murder in the far away Balkans set in motion an explosive cascade of events that led to a cataclysmic war. The Russian Revolution was preceded by such a long "lull" encouraged by European peace and reforms by the tsar that even Lenin was near despair and was living abroad. After several years of WWI and growing poverty at home, the Russian front imploded and a small event at home triggered a revolution that started small and democratic and then exploded into one of the vastest social revolutions in history. The beginning of WWII on the crucial German-French front was so quiet for so many months after France and Britain had declared war on Germany after it invaded Poland that it was called the "Sitzen Krieg" in Germany, the sit-down war, then it exploded as Germany invaded through the Ardennes. This was repeated near the end of the war as Germany built up its forces secretly for attacking through the Ardennes again.

The American Revolution looked very unlikely until that fateful British march to Concord and Lexington to enforce gun control laws. Then it exploded. The conflicts between the North and South had been so intense for so many decades, off and on, and then resolved again and again by major compromises that the Ante-Bellum period of the 1850's seemed another replay of that scenario. Then all of a sudden there was a small incident near Charleston, moves to secession, calling up the Northern troops and an explosion of war vastly more ghastly than Americans imagined possible. War between Japan and Germany and the U.S. had been put off so many times and so long that Pearl Harbor came as quite a shock to most Americans. The 9/11 attacks on the U.S. were just as shocking all over again.

In the early years of this new century, the U.S. had used soaring paper money and paper-asset inflation to fuel a great Bubble and apparent "prosperity" over twenty years and repeated crises [1980, 1987, 1990, 2000] were ended by pumping out more paper money and inflating assets [both paper and houses after the Nasdaq Crash in 2000] that the Fed and almost all economists and Bankers and speculators declared we had entered an Age of The Great Moderation in which financial crises were impossible, as Bernanke declared with gusto. Then housing and stocks started slowly cascading down, then did so more rapidly, then one Big Bank was hit by a sudden crisis and had to be "saved" from implosion, then others followed, then suddenly one weekend Lehman imploded and the the whole top of the U.S. financial system imploded and had to be taken over by the U.S. to save it from what looked like total implosion. The Great Moderation was suddenly replaced by The Greatest Global Financial Crisis in history. Europe and the rest of the world soon followed the U.S. into growing crisis.

By pouting out vast and soaring trillions and using vast distortions of the System [such as Quantitative Easing by the Fed] to hold the System up, they managed in the past several years to stop the accelerating cascade down and have kept it bumping along the bottom in official statistics like the GDP and unemployment, while the debts and distortions and all the real crises keep growing. The apparent bump up in the official stats on GDP are an illusion, below the real rate of inflation for GDP, while real unemployment and all the other real economic crises keep growing.

We're now in a lull before a vast, revolutionary storm. The U.S. is sinking faster and faster in all the ways vital to the future of our society, from the The Great Global Economic-Financial Crisis which the U.S. produced with insane Big Bank speculations and corruption to educational decline and bureaucratic strangulation to losing imperials wars around the world to political deadlock. I'm sure any intelligent American who is honest with himself can quickly write down a long list of the crucial ways in which the U.S. is declining now. Maybe half of Americans are too ignorant about the world or lack the intelligence to see all of this Big Picture of Crisis and Decline. They are confused and mad and despairing and see no way out, but assume the Republicrat System will go on and on and are trying merely to fit in and keep or get a job with a livable wage for them and their families. Even some knowledgeable and intelligent people see what is happening but see no exit and despair and simply withdraw and hide from it all, implicitly or explicitly assuming The System will just keep getting worse and worse and never end.

But nations, like individuals and groups and companies, cannot simply drift downward faster and faster into worse and worse crises they patch up but cannot escape or reverse. We've been doing that now for decades, as France and Russia did before their vast social Revolutions, as the nations did during long decades of peaceful imperial conflicts before the utterly immense conflicts of the American Civil War, WWI and WWII. There comes a time finally when the accelerating crises and sufferings and rages become too much to bear and something, often a seemingly small event like a murder of a young man in the Balkans, or an attack by "hotheads" on a small fort near Charleston, sets off an explosive cascade of events that quickly leads to a vast social explosion.

The U.S. is now rushing downward along all vital dimensions of social life. If this continues much longer, the U.S. will simply implode and that will lead to vast social revolution or revolutions. But maybe the vast social revolution will come before implosion.

The one thing we can be sure of is that we have sunk so far so long and are now accelerating down so fast that this cannot continue long without producing an implosion or a vast social revolution.

Coming soon, Holder to the Supreme Court, UN in DC with a voice for the world, and confiscation of guns and ammo. Retirement funds (what's left of them) will be confiscated and government will determine how and when retirement happens for who.

I’m not advocating it, but I would not be a bit surprised to see one or more Oklahoma city type attacks in the the next few years. There are a lot of people in the deep south and west who are armed to the teeth and not going to sit idly by while the federal government shoves gay marriage into their churches. If the federal government pokes the tiger enough and eventually they are going to get their arm torn off...

RIP America, Born 1776, Died 2012

Politics / US Politics
Nov 07, 2012 - 05:09 AM
Craig Maus

Dear Patriots, Tonight, this Country’s Special Interest Groups, by a narrow margin, decided that their own self- interests were more important than that of the Country’s and in so stating said: to hell with the Country as long as the Feds and Obama provide me with more continued Free-Bee’s.

Every group created and expanded over time & routinely, thanks to this Federal Government & it’s various entitlement departments and agencies, as we have stated, became the end result that decided our end.

America, as a consequence, WILL NEVER EVER AGAIN BE THE SAME.

It will now accelerate its Downhill Slide into oblivion

. Higher taxes, further retarded approaches to basic and fundamental policies including energy and foreign policy, will make America a second rate power totally dependent upon a Socialist mechanism in which Obama and Company will destroy the remaining bulwarks of our Constitutional basis.

They will rule, as mentioned, via Executive Fiat and the ultimate result I fear, will be an eventual Civil War.

More from the Middle Class and what’s left of it, to pay for those who simply WANT, via a Redistribution Policy cloaked in a Political Policy of Transformation, will require more and will take more until the inevitability of the Founders’ predictions regarding the Enemy from Within is realized from which the only recourse will be that as described above & undertaken.

Obama won simply because those States that emulated the Federal Demagoguery of entitlement, provided the impetus that carried this ‘man’ to yet another ominous term in which his lies and transgressions will be realized.

The blind and decapitated in this Country are clearly running it.

The Country is screwed as a result & because of that which THEY HAVE CREATED over these decades.

The so-called ‘BattleGround’ States were won via several counties within each who command a high population of People’s who BENEFIT from Federal hand-outs in one form or another.

Thus, those few counties containing large areas of per capita residency, overwhelmed the remainder of their States giving it to Obama while Three-Fourths of the remaining area of those States voted AGAINST OBAMA.

These are the type of Demographics WE have been warning YOU of.

They have been DELIBERATELY created as part of a larger plan relating to an Ideology that was put in earnest play beginning in the 1960’s but whose roots can be traced back to April, 1865 as we have asserted.

Tomorrow, YOU can look at the map and the various counties within Each State that will support this claim.

It is entirely possible that Romney will win the Popular vote but lose the Electoral Vote thanks to this Federal Government’s creation of homogenized locations across this Country in which general welfare in one form or another is freely distributed from the backs of tax-paying Americans.

America will NOW get FOUR MORE YEARS OF THE SAME but ONLY WORSE, and far more WORSE, than their ability to think or contemplate ever surmised.

The welfare lines will grow larger as will the arrogance and impunity of those who shared a mutual hand in this Country’s destruction and for No OTHER REASON THAN THE same 30 pieces of silver Judas received when he sold out Christ.

And in the end, America will hang itself just as he…. in order NOT TO FACE THE REALITY OF WHAT EACH HAD DONE.

In closing, I will say to one and all and perhaps for the LAST TIME this: this country must separate. There are TWO clearly distinct and opposite Ideologies in play and this most basic and elementary fact can NO longer be denied or swept under the rug any longer with the mundane excuses provided us by this Federal Oligarchy in Power.

Yes Folks, WE Confederates Told YOU So, but HALF of this Country has decided to buy the Snake Oil that the Other Half will Now have to Produce & Pay For….Simply to keep the other half in their comfort to which they have become accustomed… thanks to a Central State that 150 Years ago changed the Direction in which we were to have gone.

So Long America.

We have two choices - 1) continue to be complacent slaves to the left (because WE are the ones who will be paying all of Obama’s excessive spending), or 2) fight back through either civil unrest until the left is unseated and gone or until we achieve secession from the United States of Liberal Loonyville.

A major war, civil or world wide, appears to be to only way out of the fiscal mess our nation and the rest of the so-called civilized world has gotten itself into with it's welfare politics. War will reduce the number of mouths to feed, put people to work, hide the theft that the stimulus programs are and put even more money into the pockets of the ruling class. The only problem is that weapons have become so advanced that none may survive a truly intense war.

Last night was the when I decided officially to become a “prepper”. I've started researching stocking up on ammo and supplies. I'm convinced that yesterday the concept of a massive uprising went from “if” to “when”. I'm not sure which side will start it, massive inflation causing the “takers” to riot when their government checks are now worth pennies on the dollar or the the patriots who get pushed to far by the federal government and decide to hit the 2nd amendment “reset button” (heck it might even start in the military itself, I know a lot of military folks that are just about at the boiling point). But I know what side I will be on when it hits the fan...

"The only problem is that weapons have become so advanced that none may survive a truly intense war"

Actually, it's the exact opposite. Precision weapons means that fewer people will get killed and the cost, logistics, etc., of deploying modern weapons means that wars will be very short. Once you lose most of your air force or navy in the first few weeks of a war and realize that it will be twenty years to replace those weapons, one side or the other will come to the peace table quickly.

Now, if you're talking civil war with limited weapons, starvation of the masses(due to civil war), etc., then yes, the body count will pile up quickly and for who knows how long.

I will just sit back and wait. When the Gubment runs out of money the left will self destruct. Imagine Detroit, Philly etc when the checks do not come. Prepare yourself and family with food, water, and a good generator. I am thinking 1K rounds of ammo should be enough and will use a 300% safety factor just to make sure. Self defense only.

but more of a “grow your own garden, raise your own chickens” kind of “survivalist”.

Even with Romney and a fillibuster proof majority in Congress/Senate, the crash couldn’t be stopped.

The difference, though, would have been that there would have been an economic runup before the dollar was inflated out of existance,
and there would have been a capitalist/businessman instead of a Marxist in power to put the pieces back together.

IC Ken....You better plan your hide far from your home in a wilderness area or hard access area with a good surrounding view(free fire zone). When TSHTF, your house will be a death trap even if you have 10,000 rds of ammo. Secrecy and invisibility will be your hope for survival until you meet up with like-minded groups and form community defenses...

Even though a movie, Red Dawn is an example of survival, albeit without the offensive moves that the group made...That was Hollywoodish....

The only problem is that weapons have become so advanced that none may survive a truly intense war.

Superstorm Sandy was a wake-up call. I hope people were paying attention. Those who were unable to make it a week without assistance need to get started on their preparations now.

With respect to advanced weapons, you're correct. Those who don't have guns or can't afford them need to learn how to use and sharpen knives. Many will scoff at such a suggestion, but I had a conversation with FReeper Mr Rogers last year about knives versus guns that gave me a new perspective. Then just the other day, I was flipping through the channels and caught an episode of "I Survived" in which a female lawyer was attacked in her apartment by an intruder with a knife. The damage he inflicted, quietly, changed my mind about bringing a knife to a gun fight. I love my guns, but I also now keep a blade next to my bed and in my truck.

Think the point was that we have a ruling elite that is not working for our best interests. They are lining their own pockets (bailouts). The outcome from the fight against our tyrants, is not very predictable. We could slip into a socialistic Russia or a more perestroika ("restructuring") and "glasnost" ("openness") Poland or form several new countries. Some socialistic (Kalifornicationland) and some based on the principals of the founding fathers of the US (Free Texas).

I've started researching stocking up on ammo and supplies.

You better hurry. Prices are going thru the roof for guns and ammo. And soon there will be another AWB. And I also expect new laws against "hoarding."

"What is with the popularity of the phrase “going Galt”? The correct term is “shrugging.” Tell your friends and family to call it shrugging."

The first time I read Atlas Shrugged was in 1965, there was a popular bumper sticker at that time that was Navy blue and had white letters that said, "Who Is John Galt?"

I quit work 20 years ago at the age of 50 and have been living in Galt's Gulch ever since.
Every high school graduate that sends me an invitation to their graduation gets a copy of Atlas Shrugged as a graduation gift.

I probably won't change, lol.

I toyed with the idea of picking up an extra WASR-10 AK variant (don't really need one, but just felt like it) , and checked the usual sites.

Every site that had them yesterday is sold out today as expected.

Surprisingly enough, the Hungarian AMD-65s are still in stock. I have one and they're not a bad budget AK.
