What’s really sad is that the NOAA has to issue a statement informing politicians, citizens and other assorted intellectuals in the country of this simple fact.

There was nothing unusual about a Cat 1 hurricane. The only thing odd is that we have had so few hurricanes recently that no one seemed to be prepared for this one nor do we seem to be able to dig out of it’s aftermath.

NO ONE knows what the temperature is supposed to be.

NO ONE knows what the CO2 content is supposed to be.

NO ONE knows what the climate will be in 100 years.

It's like the farmers almanac.....win some lose some...

There is no perfection in the weather/climate business.

Good luck!

Look for some political appointments at the top of scientific agencies. In a few years, NOAA will use its prestige to confirm that global warming is a problem. /S

Wow. Starting to gain some respect for NOAA. They went over to the dark side for awhile, but it looks like actual science is starting to make a comeback. Just in time for the next cooling period ?

Solar cycle 24 continues weakly, perhaps weakest of the space-age
