The news reports and anecdotal accounts all reported long lines and extreme waiting times to vote. There are posts in Freerepublic of people stating that they had never seen lines as long in all their years of voting. I understand that we are still counting and that the numbers will still increase, but it seems highly implausible that the number would be less. I cant think of a time when a sitting president was reelected with less votes. The total count currently is 116,543,973 ( per Drudge ), in 2008 it was 132,618,580, a difference of 16,074,607. ( http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0781453.html ) Houston we have a problem! Has the country just been stolen?

More people voted for McCain than for Romney.
I'm having a hard time swallowing that (for a number of reasons).

In actuality, this number is not the amount of voters...it’s the amount of votes tabulated.
There is a difference.

Yeah, I hope that we don’t get evidence of machine/results tampering, but cutting down the vote against Obama seems the way he won. A lot of people were out voting yesterday and there was a palpable feeling that Romney won. That was NOT the feeling during Obama/McCain.
We got robbed.

And the long lines were not just for one day of voting, but for early voting as well.
I don’t think it was an accident that R observers were kicked out in the battleground states - even in violation of a court order in one instance. The known election fraud of a perjurious Official Certification of Nomination for Obama (confirmed by the Hawaii state registrar) was neither the first nor the last of the crimes committed in this election...

Or, millions fewer votes were counted. Could be a lot of ballots went missing....

I am really concerned about this whole early voting process. Who is watching those votes.

Has the country just been stolen? Sure looks like it. Where did all those Republican votes from early voting and those long lines go?

As of 12 AM Wednesday: 44,621,296 votes for Obama, 44,828,420 for Romney. Muncie StarPress Never give in, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never Yield to a force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy. ― Winston Churchill As `Senator Blutarski' out it, did we give up when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no! Well, just under half the country did just that ... I don't know about the rest of us who voted against Obama--but I'll spend the next four years fighting anyone I hear using the expressions "Hope and Change" and "Forward!" and any Republicans using the phrase "reach across the aisle" and "bipartisanship". The notion of being ashamed of my country was something I thought only Democrats felt, until last night. Half the country deserves what it has coming, and it deserves to get it good and hard.

People were excited about Obama in 2008. Clean, articulate black man running for President. He could have carried Bill Clinton’s bags. People were fired up.
People weren’t fired up about Romney.

I’d like to know exactly where these “fewer” vote areas are. Everything I saw, read, heard pointed to massive turn out. Exactly where did we fall short this time?

We had nearly a 25% increase at our local polls than we had in 2008, which set a record at the time. We now have a new record.

Two questions: there were several reported cases of Republicans being kept out of polling places early in the day. Were machines 'front-loaded' with votes for democrats? Were Republican ballots that were cast early disposed of?
Can ANYONE answer those questions?

Millions LESS people voted in 2012 than 2008?! A more precise question would be:
Millions LESS votes counted in 2012 than 2008?!
Not sure how many people actually voted.
