Which leads me to a question I’ve always wanted to ask:
Why does the GOP accept the formats and moderator choices from the Debate Commission? What would happen if they just said “no”, or if they insisted on a moderator like, e.g., Brit Hume or Bret Baier?
They accept it because the Commission on Presidential Debates is jointly owned and run by the Republican and Democrat parties.
