WASHINGTON (AP) Voters who feel the economic outlook brightening after years of misery and believe Barack Obama better understands people like themselves propelled the president to a second term, exit polls show. Mitt Romney suffered from being labeled a champion of the wealthy over the common man.
Americans interviewed as they left their polling places Tuesday were in wide agreement that the economy is still in sorry shape. But they were less likely to blame Obama than to point the finger at his predecessor, George W. Bush.

“Regardless of who won we are headed for collapse”
Agree and have been saying this for months. An election wasn’t going to change that
The only real question is: when do the free handouts start declining? When can regular people just be shown as somewhat helpful as opposed to FEMA? When will the spending be forced to slow down?
But the voters just saw a struggling economy. Ask your average voter questions about things like the Federal Reserve or quantitative easing and such and there effect on making the economy look better than it actually is and I promise you you will get a blank stare
“When Obama II fails just as Obama I, will it still be W’s fault?”
No, now he will blame it on the “Republican House” and their unwillingness to “invest in America”.
Well, at least it’s been confirmed that it’s Obama who will do it! After some thought, I realized that pretty much any one of the candidates we had weren’t going to beat Obama for the White House, and we might be closer to a decline in America than I once thought. But oh well the dependents will be getting the worst of it.
Sixty-four percent of all voters said Obama’s response to the devastation from Superstorm Sandy was a factor in their vote.
Holy cow. Whatta bunch of morons.
No, the Democrats will blame the GOP controlled House for not giving them everything they wanted.
I am done with politics and voting.
How about the end of 2012 in the case of extended unemployment benefits. The typical state issues up to 26 weeks of unemployment benefits. The federal extension that has been in place for quite some time pushed this up to 99 weeks. The federal extensions expire at the end of 2012.
So, it you recently became unemployed (like myself), you will not be receiving any federal extension to your unemployment benefits because CA's 26 weeks takes me past the end of 2012.
This country is messed up in the head- there is no way in hell that a republican would have been elected if the unemployment rate was even at 6.5 % but obama wins reelection because the unemployment fell below 8% for the FIRST TIME IN 4 YEARS and because the peopel think that is a ‘hint of improvement’? What the hell is wrong with htis country lately?
I should add that I hope it doesn’t come to that for myself and I find employment elsewhere.
The average voter will soon have reality staring them in the face as prices soar thanks to Uncle Ben and QE.
You can say that again. Of course, they probably never saw the pictures of what was happening -- or more to the point, FEMA's non-response -- on Staten Island. The in-the-tank-for-Obama media strikes again.
The majority of Americans are immature morons.
This country is in seep do-do.
What hint was this?
You know that.
I know that
We even have a pretty good idea who and how.
There are only two things we can't do:
Prove it.
Get anyone to listen to the proof.
Bush 41 was not re-elected, even though a sluggish economy was on the upswing at election day. The difference is that the Democrats own the msm. They kept the Bush’s recovery a secret. They helped Obama trumpet his mythical “improvement.”
As long as the Democrats tun the msm, they will win, because we have the stupidest electorate on the planet.
On the bright side, as soon as you and your cohorts join me off the end of the unemployment benefits, the official unemployment rate falls.
Welcome to U-6, my FRiend...
massive fraud...that is what this election was....
