What I learned while working as a poll monitor in NC today

Today I worked as a poll monitor in Charlotte NC for the Romney campaign. This is the first time I have ever worked in a polling area and I learned a few things that are very important.

1. While our location was not too busy and did not have any problems, the other veteran poll workers mentioned how there is a lot of funny business that normally goes on at the polls. Especially during early voting. Many are run by democrats and they let people slide all the time. Voters that are not registered are allowed to slip by, etc. Truckloads of nursing home patients are brought in with handlers to vote for them. The patients are often not aware of what's going on and the poll workers will let them break the rules all the time.

2. With 30,000 Romney poll watchers and lawyers responding with a single phone call, I think we put a serious kibash on some of this widespread fraud.

3. We must have conservative poll monitors at every single poll in every election. We can no longer be complacent. We must take the time to participate in the vote process or it will be stolen from us every time.

There are a lot of news stories today about various incidents at polls and these appear to be more orchestrated than I expected and its frankly pretty scary.

The rats seem to break or bend every rule when they think they can get away with it. They have absolutely no care whatsoever for the sanctity of the vote. Please keep this in mind and volunteer next election! Its not too hard and you meet some really nice people.

In fish terms, the Democrats are successfully scaling, gutting and filleting the Constitution and the conservatives. After this election cycle, the Constitutional/conservative fish is gone - dead and filleted.

We either manage to somehow wiggle off the gaff or we are done.

I’d like to report that our voting precinct in Arlington, Va. staffed by locals, worked very well eventhough I suspect every worker was a Democrat.

We could vote by paper ballot, which you filled out and personally submitted into the electronic tallying machine. If it said “successfully processed”, you left. If there was a problem, usually with the marking of a vote box, you could submit a new ballot.

This method saved me a lot of time as the gymn was filled and I had to make an out-of-town medical appointment. I didn’t have to wait in line to use the regular voting machines. The turnout was so great that the 5 machines we normally had was just not enough to keep the waiting time down. Somebody was thinking with the electronic paper ballot. Saved me about 20-25 minutes in waiting.

These are our neighbors and we have known them for years. A thanks to them for doing the job well and for being very helpful to the disabled.

PS: My daughter (and granddaughter) was a certified poll watcher for the GOP. No problems. She went to school with some of the workers and knew their parents.
