WESTERVILLE, Ohio "Oh, I think Romney's going to win Ohio. I mean, I'm hearing from the people who are, you know, Republicans, but in the absentees and the early votes, he did not get the numbers that he got four years ago." He would be Barack Obama. And the gentleman across from me talking here late this morning isn't just another guy with an opinion, he is John Kasich, the governor of Ohio. "He's down 30,000 votes from his early voting numbers in Cuyahoga County [Cleveland], and we're also hearing reports of heavy turnout in Republican strongholds, so those things combined make me think he's gonna win."

He said he thinks but I hope so.
Butler, reddest of the red, is at . . . 121% of 08 with THREE HOURS LEFT!
I think that's the old final nail.
Heard Bill Cunningham (WLW, Cincinnati) on Sean Hannity’s program a few minutes ago. Cunningham spoke with election officials in Hamilton County (which includes the heavily Republican suburbs of Cincy), along with officials in three of the most heavily GOP counties in SW Ohio. Turnout is described as “massive;” the three Republican counties north of Cincinnati are poised to deliver more votes than George W. Bush received in 2004. and turnout in Hamilton will reportedly top 75%.
For what it’s worth...yeah, Willie’s not exactly a neutral observer, but he knows Ohio and is well-connected with the GOP establishment.
I remember a story here in FR in 2004 about the Bush number crunchers who had identified a couple of key counties in Ohio. When the numbers started coming in positive in those areas they actually packed up and went home early. Unfortunately, I can’t find the article now to see which counties they were.
Anyone remember that?
Guess that WONDERFUL Rally Friday might have helped...
“Be part of something historic” I heard there Friday.... Who knows if it really WILL be “historic”??
“400pm CST MSNBC is reporting that Barack Obama is spending time with Reggie Love right now at the East Bank Club, playing basketball. I swear thats not a joke. Theyre really talking about him and Reggie spending time together on Election Night as a tradition. Isnt that something you have with your wife (or boyfriend) an intimate tradition like this? WEIRD. Youd almost think Obama was gay or something (wink).”

Well, I was one. It was Montgomery Co., but it was a particular swing precinct within the county that said that by 4:00 80% of our base had voted and we knew we had the turnout to win. Rove, visiting Dayton years later, said exactly the same thing.
I remember the MSM was so happy because exit polls in OHIO had Kerry so far ahead in OHIO - in the middle of the day Kerry was smiling thinking he would win. I remember ROVE coming on the air after the polls closed and explaining the turnout model favored GWB. Shortly, actual numbers starting coming in and the MSM was stunned. Kerry even suspected massive voter fraud in OHIO because the actual results did not match the exist polls. This narrative drives the RATS view the GOP commits massive voter fraud.
Thanks. It’s frustrating not being able to find the article.
“Well Reggie, if I can’t screw America anymore, at least I have you.”
At the end of the article a woman was asked about what John Kasich was saying about Romney taking Ohio and she said something like “I don’t believe anything John Kasich says, I believe Nate Silver.”
President Romney’s job may be to make sure everyone in America that wants a job has one but he is going to have a hard time finding a job for Nate Silver when this is over!
Start here. I’m good at sifting thru archives. If I find more I’ll post them to you.

Do you remember if the posts were on a live thread or if the comments were on a thread containing an actual article and, if so, do you remember the source of the article being commented on, i.e., Commentary, Washington Times, NY Post, etc.?
It wasn’t a live thread I believe it was sort of an after action report. A “how we won” type of story. I have no idea of the source. Thanks for the help.
Stark County Ohio is one of he bellweather counties for Ohio, and has been mentioned recently on some news casts, and also by Romney on one of recorded phone calls targeting us. I am here in Stark County, and I feel good about my observations today and leading up to today.
