This is what the ACLU really wants:
FTA:
“Yet the new directive hasnt satisfied the ACLU, which is waiting to go before an Essex County superior Court judge to force the state to allow voters who havent received their email or fax ballots to cast their votes using the federal Voting Assistance Program. Normally used by overseas and military voters, it allows residents to download absentee ballots that can be mailed in.”
The Sandy victims won't matter.
Yes, and maybe on that day president-elect Romney will be interviewing potential cabinet members.
Query - how can a local govt. decide ballot matters for the federal election ?
And the winds from the Nor' easter inbound tomorrow could be 50-60MPH which could hamper further repair of the power grid and destroy some of what has already been repaired.
As long as Romney hits 270 without NJ, we’re good!
Doesn’t need to wait for NY either!
Fine. So long as they extend the same consideration to military voters.
Yep, let Romney concede NY and NJ. Let them vote and re-vote until Kingdom Come. Meanwhile, the President-elect gets on with assembling his transition team.
So - what? No election results from NJ until Saturday? Are you kidding me?
Hear, hear!
It does not matter but the votes for Preident made after the deadline will not count.

Email and Fax machines require electricity - they should start there.
I believe that’s illegal. All voting for president must be by the end of Election Day. Voting for other stuff can be done later, but not president. At least, that’s what I heard today — either on Fox or Rush.
Put your tin foil hats on...but I live in NJ... and if I didn’t know any better, because I live in the republican suburbs, and considering that 50% of our town was STILL without power (albeit, they’ve made big efforts to make sure we could vote) it would seem the more urban areas like Jersey City, Union City (Menendez territory) Elizabeth, Newark, Paterson all seem to have been well taken care of, (not all areas within, but the focus seems to have been these areas. ) Get the power on in the urban areas so that Melendez and nObama can carry the state.
The ACLU has never ever once requested extension because military ballots couldn’t be counted in time.
Umm, maybe you haven't heard. We're a federal republic of 50 United States, not one monolithic FEMA district.
The states get to decide how their elections are done.
They, in turn, devolve the responsibility down to the county and/or ward levels.
It is just how it should be.
The only thing I object to here are email (!!!) ballots. Not trackable, not authenticated, and absolutely NO chain of custody.
The US comstitution says we all have to vote on the same day.
