I am suggesting that there are people in the AQ hierarchy or even in the Libyan government with the intelligence and experience to contact potential "enemies of my enemy" and offer them the opportunity to mine the site, for a substantial fee of course. It takes a while to sift through a destroyed building.
The site was cleared of all obstacles to a thorough search by early morning 9/12.

I don't know what the hell you're talking about. I've been excoriating 0coward for this since Sept, 12th. I said on this thread that I didn't think the attackers primary goal was the intel (although in the past few weeks I have noted that it was a very worthy motivation for the attack) and you started arguing with me about that statement.
Wouldn't they already know that?
As temporary as this non consul ant consultant was since it just seemed to be there as a resting place for Stevens and for meetings ...like he had with the Turkish guy.
