As I stated earlier, they ran into the mountains of Afghanistan and hid after 911. No way they would not expect a major counter attack for an attack just 2 months before an election. Heck, every President running for reelection wants the perfect October surprise. And this one was handed to Obama on a silver platter. Why did he not take it ?

That may have been more disinformation from 0coward and co. At this point it's more rational to believe that anything his admin says is a lie if it can't be proved true by independent means. For all we know the most exciting piece of info to be had at either compound was Stevens' credit card #.

I am sitting here wondering what sort of intel might be useful...to perhaps identify specific groups in Syria?

1. Written proof of the United States' intention to destabilize a Russian and Iranian client state.
2. Codes
3. The identities of agents working in Syria (so that they can kill or capture them)
4. Learning what is the long term US/CIA plan vis a vis Israel, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc.

I think that alone would be enough.

The good stuff would have been in Tripoli.
