Heavy voting in a solid blue state means nothing except that the Democrats didn’t push for early voting because they knew they had a lock on that state. They could have 100% or a 30% voter turn out in Maryland and it wouldn’t make a bit of difference. The results would be the same.

If all you care about is the presidential race, perhaps. Believe it or not, there are other races and issues that draw Republicans/conservatives to the polls in Maryland and blue states, so turnout percentage most certainly does make a difference.
