The Democrats bet on Obama, and Obama bet the Democrats
We don’t know yet whether he will lose this election for the Democrats, but the Democrats have already lost much in their bet on Barack Obama, and will be paying for it for several years. So far, he has lost them their best chance in a generation to build a center-left coalition, lost them their chance to make government popular, and cost them also their most cherished illusions, which may be the worst blow of all. It is all very far from the 40-year liberal reign forecast by his more fervent admirers barely four years ago, and in this lies an unhappy tale.
He started his term by misreading his mandate -- his first and his most crucial flaw. Hope, change, and styrofoam columns notwithstanding, Obama was actually a few points behind the McCain-Palin ticket on September 15, 2008, when the housing market collapsed, the stock market collapsed, and the fiscal system hung on the brink of implosion, tipping the presidency, with no effort on his part, into his lap. It was the move of independents and soft McCain voters to his camp that gave him his landslide, and also his danger and chance. His chance was to craft policies that would bind the independents to his base in a larger center-left coalition; his danger was that their worldview was different from his -- independents were unlikely to go for much government spending -- and that he and they might quickly be driven apart.

If the Democrat losses are deep enough (if in fact he/they lose) I expect the Dems to treat him much like the old Communist Party in the Soviet Union used to treat their dead, departed or other wise deposed leaders...

Obama was and is an A-hole. but he didn’t do this alone.
Nancy Pelosi helped him shove Obamacare up our azz, Harry Reid has been drinking his urine since day one, Steny Hoyer is connected to him by the hip, and the whole part has been solid partisan voting as though it was the law to do what Obama said.
Republicans are not innocent either, especially Boehner and McConnell who have remained silent while Obama has poisoned the well, McCain and Graham have sided with Obama too many times, and not one Republican has asked how Obama came to have a Social Security card that doesn’t belong to him How he paid for three colleges ad took a vacation in Pakistan while he was in college.
They bit off more than they could chew. If they had gone with Hillary/obama in 2008, we would be facing another 4 years of those two, followed by 2 terms with obama.
The media in this country is just as responsible for this disaster as the socialist democrats are! The bastards should all be in Gitmo for treason!

Obama was doomed from the beginning. Blacks and gays were thinking that he would deliver lots of things to them. Their demands alienated the center.
SPOT ON!! This is what I’ve been saying this year. Had the democrats put an even half way reasonable candidate in ‘08 he/she would be CRUISING TO AN EASY VICTORY!
But no. They had to go with the most radical, America changing (Destroying) corrupt piece of shit they could find.
