After all, You voted for him, not me.

And yet whoever wins will be President, signing laws that affect you. But at least you can tell yourself you didn't have to dirty yourself. It's kinda like celebrating the end of a war after evading the draft.

That analogy only works if it's an unjustified war where both sides are equally bad.

But let me preemptively celebrate...

It's more like finding yourself in the middle of a highly contagious hospital ward, with chicken pox on the left and mumps on the right. And you're not immune to either. No matter which wing you flee from there are consequences and you're not likely to emerge competely well.
