The town's ~25-odd registered voters ...

So the REAL story is the 15 voters who decided to stay home this time! Disillusioned Obama voters?

Did the Dixville Notch News refuse to endorse this year?

I don’t think so. Tomorrow would be Wednesday. It is officially Tues. Nov 6 in this town. The polls open at Midnight and close at a minute past midnight.

Dixville Notch is not a town. It's the site of the Balsams, a luxury hotel located in the mountains of northern New Hampshire. The voters are mostly employees of the hotel

Voting takes place in the Ballot Room, located on an upper floor. The room features a large fireplace and a big ballot box. Voting takes place at midnight.

Pictures of presidential candidates who have visited Dixville Notch adorn the wood-paneled walls of the Ballot Room--and they include just about every serious candidate for the White House since the Korean War, as well as a number of notable also-rans.

The boys are being pressured not to have their mustaches in combat zones these days

I do know that. In fact, we still grew them in 2010 while doing suppression and bombing runs over Libya for OUP.

They are discouraged, but they are there.

Honestly, I don’t care. I’m pinning on WI and IA. NH was not that big of a deal. If Romney can’t get OH, PA, or WI/IA, he will lose.

They are not true bellwethers.

They’re overwhelmingly Democrat and liberal.

Dixville Notch and Harts no long pick the winners.

It was 5 to 5. I don’t understand where you are getting your info.

Both locations combined. And Hart's changed their tally. Gary Johnson wuz robbed of a vote. This is series

Hart’s Location & Dixville Notch

President (2012)

Obama (D) 28 (65.1%)

Romney(R) 14 (32.6%)

Johnson (L) 1 (2.3%)

President (2008)

Obama (D) 32 (64.0%)

McCain (R) 16 (32.0%)

Other (I) 2 (4%)

Huge and series. Obama can sleep on a 14 vote lead. Two less than 2008.

2012 General Election - National Results for Hart’s Location President/Vice President Barack Obama/Joe Biden (D) 23 Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan (R) 9

Folks, do a search on "gay" "Hart"s Location" and "Notchland Inn". It will explain everything.

Yup. Its meaningless.

Obama got 53% of the nationwide vote in 2008.

In a very liberal part of NH, he gets two-thirds both times!

Some bellwethers!

I am prepared to stay up all night to see Romney declared the winner. But hoping it will be decided much earlier. I smell a victory albeit narrowly.

Yuck, only 9 Republicans to 20 something rats, what nasty little town. It’s also 9 votes for the GOP Governor candidate and Congressman.

In 2008 it was 17 to to 10.

So the Notch has gotten better (and turnout lower) and the the Location, worse (and turnout higher).

Of course you can’t read much into this, more people than these towns combined live on an average city block.

We’ll just have to wait to see.

Once upon a time, places like this heralded the national winner - the demographics have changed and they are no longer representative of the country.

I like the fork suggestion.

Live thread and all, I thought it would be discourteous to not respond to a 3 paragraph ping that was interesting.

Also, I apologize. My cat chewed my mouse on the laptop.

I have no downward capability from my mouse now.

I must get new mouse from BX tomorrow.
