Obama Ends Campaign in Half-Empty Arena

President Obama’s big rally tonight turned out to be just like his first, opening salvo of the 2012 campaign: a half-empty arena in Ohio. According toRealClearPolitics’ Scott Conroy, there were “empty seats scattered around the upper-level of Nationwide Arena … Four years ago, after all, Obama was easily filling venues larger than that …” The event even featured Bruce Springsteen and Jay-Z, and Obama still couldn’t fill it out.

As it turns out, the empty seats didn’t look exactly “scattered.” They looked like substantial portions of the upper bowl of the arena, according to photos tweeted by those in attendance:

And thus the Obama campaign comes full circle: from tepid open to lukewarm close in Ohio.

People pay a gazillion dollars to go see Springsteen and Jay Z and they can’t even get people to fill it for FREE?

Compare that with what Romney got today:

That is an AWESOME sight. I bet Paul Ryan will get a bigger crowd tonight in an airport hangar at Sterling Aviation in Milwaukee that Obama got in Columbus. The Columbus arena holds about 18,500 so probably not even 12,000 people there.

I was hoping he’d end it in a soccer stadium. If you know what I mean.

If Bruce Springsteen couldn’t fill it, you really have to wonder. Either people can’t stand Obama, or the planning for this event was miserably handled.

Actually, Obama’s rallies in 2008 were not very large, either. Sarah Palin regularly outdid him in numbers and crowd enthusiasm, whenever she was able to work around McCain’s bogus handlers. The only really LARGE rallies were the ones in Berlin, Oregon, and elsewhere where Obama was introduced by huge rock concerts.

Apparently not even that is working now.

Don't think of it as half-empty. Think of it as half-full.

Snooooooork! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Ironically fitting - empty seats in support of the empty chair. The ghost of Clint Eastwood rides again as Obama silently shuffles off into the sunset (to his new home in Hawaii).

Did Brucie sing the old Jackson Browne song “Running On Empty” changing it to “Running On Half Empty”?

Obama will be spending tomorrow in Chicago playing basketball. Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler says he is voting for Romney. Brian Urlacher said he doesn’t like to get involved with politics, but hinted what his vote will be by saying he doesn’t like paying alot of taxes.

“Ironically fitting - empty seats in support of the empty chair.”

They weren’t empty. They were filled with Obamaness. It was a completely full venue.
