The Obama administration is temporarily waiving some Clean Air Act requirements in 16 states and the District of Columbia to reduce fuel disruptions from Superstorm Sandy.
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson says in a letter to governors that extreme circumstances related to Sandy will prevent enough gasoline from reaching consumers.
Hope they eliminate Ethanol for a while. If so after things quite down I may take a ride and fill up my gas cans for next season for the mowers and small equip.
Has nothing to do with getting gas prices down before an election?
As I’ve said before, if the EPA would cut back some of their rules a little bit it would go a long ways to solving our economic problems.
I hope to hear President Romney say in November: “Just like back with Hurricane Sandy and the extreme circumstances required cutting back on some of the restrictions, our 8% unemployment and $17 Trillion dollar deficit are extreme circumstances. Therefore, all EPA emissions limits will be rolled back to those in place as of 1987.”
Also I noticed that the price of oil by the bbl is down, and therefore so is gas.
I think it is because of weakness of the stock market.
When ever the stock market goes down, so do gas prices.
I don't have a horse in the stock market race, so I like it to go down so I can afford gas more often.
I am surprised that Obama didn't do something sooner to bring the gas price down, it would have helped him tremendously in his bid to be reelected.
Also it's interesting that with a stroke of his pen he can negate EPA rules.
That needs to be one of the first things that President Romney does, is sock it to the EPA.
I'm sure at least 75% of the EPA gas regulations are politically driven and Romney needs to address that very soon.
The EPA is a political tool, like the Ed Dept, Commerce dept and most of the other alphabet depts.
Romney better have asbestos socks if he gets in the office.
EPA = Energy Prevention Agency
Yeah, great. But WHY only those? and WHY only now?
WHY NOT ALL 50 STATES? and WHY NOT PERMANENTLY?????
...just askin’...
“All hail the EPA.”
My sentiments exactly.
Because Americans can only handle small doses of Freedom, and only during times of great need.. and only in selected areas.
