Does this speak of desperation? Not to be a Debbie-downer.. I am just looking for intellectual honesty.
I think it shows that it’s very close in each state and Romney is showing the people in those states that he really wants it, but he can’t do it alone. They need to run with him over the finish line.
Using common sense, why would he bother if they were out of reach?
This makes perfect sense in Ohio. I’m an Ohioan, so I can’t speak for Pennsylvania.
Cleveland, Ohio, though, is historic democratic territory. It is historically overwhelmingly democratic.
This last effort to rattle republican cages, gather the committed together, and send them forth to vote and to take others with them makes perfect sense.
ANY additional votes in Cleveland are a plus.
AND it doesn’t disturb or distract any of the strong republican regions in the state.
So, my sense is that this is going right into the lions den and contesting with the lions. I think it’s an excellent strategy in Ohio. It’s not desperation at all.
It is recognition that Ohio is very close, but that’s no news alert.
It shows the election is not in the bag, that is for sure. Of course, we already knew that.
On the other hand, it also suggests the MSM / RAT polls that show either state as being out of reach are wrong as well. Why even bother if that were the case?
Plus, wouldn’t you hate to lose either state by a few thousand votes and wonder “what if”? Mitt is giving it his all and sprinting all the way to the finish line.
Just one more thing to admire about the man.
I was wondering the same thing. If they were “locked up”, then why have events. I think this is highly unusual and has me more than a little worried. Candidates normally go to their home and wait for the results on election day.
