Howie on 3 till 7 or maybe 8 (he prob sticks around a little
while), Kuhner and Avi Nelson 7-10p at least or maybe later with ABC news eventually taking over, on WRKO. Howie’s 3-7 pm shift is on the other network stations (see above) too.

Heavy voting today in Beverly, only sign holders were yes on 4 community preservation.

Be careful, liberals, syndrome is catchy

Depending on how the election turns out today, a new mental disorder appears poised to sweep across the Beautiful People gulag of the United States.

Romney Derangement Syndrome — RDS.

So far, isolated outbreaks have been reported in a few academic towns and MSNBC studios. But if Mitt Romney defeats Barack Obama today, it’ll spread faster than looting in Brooklyn when the lights go out. Grief counselors will fan out toward The New York Times [NYT], the Washington Post and ABC studios. Comrade Chris Matthews will be summarily relieved of both his belt and his shoelaces.

This kind of hysteria is a 21st century phenomenon. Remember Bush Derangement Syndrome? It devastated whole communities, mostly composed of nonworking, middle-aged people with trust funds. Few had jobs, but the ones that did worked with resentment, because they believed they deserved much higher status considering all the multiple liberal arts graduate degrees they had earned in the 1970s.

If RDS follows the same pattern as BDS, the first symptoms will be millions of Birkenstock-clad gray ponytails claiming that the election has been “stolen.”

Whenever they lose an election, it must have been stolen. Like movie critic Pauline Kael, who famously didn’t know anyone who voted for Nixon, the moonbats don’t know anybody who is voting for Romney. This may have something to do with the fact that they actually don’t know anyone who works (except maybe for a nonprofit).

In the days after the first cases of RDS are reported to the Centers for Disease Control, we will see first a trickle, then a flood of Hollywood stars claiming they’re planning to move to France — well, maybe not to France anymore. The taxes are too high there now. Alec Baldwin ... Susan Sarandon ... Matt Damon ...

You’ll know the epidemic is full-blown when you drive past your local town common after dark and see a traditional candlelight vigil taking place. Like homelessness, they ended abruptly, in all 57 states (as Obama would say) on Jan. 20, 2009.

Once Mitt is inaugurated, CNBC won’t be excited about a 7.9 percent unemployment rate. If Mitt gets it down to 5 percent, they’ll call it a jobless recovery. This is all part of the pathology of RDS. You’ll know RDS is sweeping the nation when you see the first bumper sticker: Benghazi: An Inside Job. Another sign: Cindy Sheehan is seen hitchhiking toward Lake Winnipesaukee.

Like the Black Death, these derangement syndromes recur every few years, specifically whenever a Republican is elected president. Things that are accepted without complaint during Democrats’ administrations — Gitmo, drones, warrantless wiretaps, $4-a-gallon gas — suddenly seem like GOP conspiracies.

How will we know when Romney Derangement Syndrome has peaked? When the Times and Dennis Kucinich demand that the World Court in The Hague indict Romney ... for crimes against humanity.
