This is exactly what I don’t understand. He’s running on a “Forward” theme, just like the “Hopey-Changie” theme last time, but this time he has a record which by any measure is abysmal. I don’t understand why Romney isn’t making a more direct, in-your-face, attack on the man’s record. Romney needs to have an ad that simply says he said the same things four years ago and everything is worse, but do it more forcefully than is currently being done.
First, America is a different country now, and “they” (fill in the blanks — backward white people, privileged males, wealthy people, business people, misogynists, racists, xenophobes, homophobes, etc.) will put you into figurative chains without Obama to stop them.
This hit me pretty hard, because the way I look at it. These are the very people he, his cronies and “Peeps” want to see put into chains so as to slave away and keep them in comfort and plenty.
Much of Obama’s speechifying and rhetoric is from dusted off speeches of 2008. If one didn't know different, they would think Candidate Obama is running against the Incumbent-in-the-White-House.
The trouble is, most of what 2008 Obama ran against and blamed on Bush2, Incumbent Obama did and did even worse.
Incumbent Obama in 4 years outspent Bush's 8 years. Incumbent Obama has increased poverty, put more people on food stamps, caused more people to lose their jobs [unemployment is higher today than when Obama took office], lost $billions in green energy companies, stole over $700 billion from Medicare to pay for part of Obamacare, etc.
Campaign 2012 Obama is running against Incumbent 2008 Obama. He is losing and wants revenge against Romney, binders, and Big Bird. Obama has to blame someone or something; that is his history, his behavioral pattern.
If Campaign 2012 Obama would open his eyes and see what major mess the next president is going to inherit from Incumbent 2008 Obama, Campaign 2012 Obama take off for Hawaii even before the election.
He is surronded by an inner circle of yes men. No one, outside of the conservative media, will disturb his illusions.
