Ever have the feeling you're being lied to by the news media, the authorities, the corporate world? That somebody -- or something -- is out to get you?
You're not alone.
Welcome to 21st-century America.
Look around. Trust is hitting historic lows. Just a third of Americans have a favorable view of the federal government, a decline of 31% since 2002, according to the Pew Center for People and the Press. Gallup has Congress' approval rating is in the low 20s, after nearing single digits last summer. And the news media aren't much better off.
"Negative opinions about the performance of news organizations now equal or surpass all-time highs on nine of 12 core measures the Pew Research Center has been tracking since 1985," a Pew report said.
Add in our wired, social media-addicted world, and rumors reign. You've heard them all, whether they involve the presidential candidates, global climate change or illegal immigration.

A “feeling” of being lied to by the media!?!? And this from CNN?!?!
I’m speechless.
The same CNN who’s corporate CEO admitted hiding news of atrocities in Iraq for a decade.
I was just going to say.
The Clinton News Network (home of Candy Crowley) is trying to make us believe they are down the middle of the road.
/giggle
The media are better off than 22%? See cnn... you are a bunch of lying pos biased dims... your approval... according to Gallup... is 8%. FUmedia.

Where’s Benghazi? Where’s Fast and Furious?
After the election someone or some group should buy controlling stock in the offending news networks and fire the offending commentators (Rachael Maddow etc). Maybe some venture capitalists could get the New York Times. That would be poetic justice.

Justice would be if the whole bunch went broke.
CNN trying to say they aren’t horribly, obviously biased? That’s about as truthful as any other propaganda they try to foist on us. I long ago stopped believing ANYTHING the MSM had to say. I would sooner believe a used car salesman. The MSM has zero credibility, and they have no one to blame for that but themselves. They also have just about no way to recover any shred of credibility. Maybe if they started actually reporting facts, not spin, and dropped the bias... Who knows, after a decade or so of that I might start to trust them a little again.
And off the road and into the swamp.
