This is where the shuttle buses from the parking lot dropped off crowds. We waited there about 45 minutes or more to get up to the security entrance. You could tell these weren’t Democrats—the crowd was very orderly, polite, friendly. We got to the canopies after about an hour where tickets were checked and water bottles deposited. Then we went thru the scanning “door frames” onto the spacious field. There was no pushing, no shoving. People started lining up behind the security fence—we were way back, can’t even guess how many people deep from the fence. We were opposite the big screen. It was quite cold and windy and while we all had to stand, the crowd pretty much blocked the wind below our shoulders. People sitting down on the bleachers were probably freezing from the wind blowing thru. Three Orthodox Jews stood next to us with long curls in front of their ears and yarmulkes(?) but didn’t appear to be cold. They listened very intently to every word. Before Romney appeared, someone fainted down in front of the stage. Gov. Corbett stood there silently while the rescue squad was caring for the person. I’m anxious to see the crowd count; each ticket was scanned “for counting purposes”. The crowd was very, very excited—there definitely was electricity in the air.

There was a neat fireworks display at the end—very appropriate. Then most of the people who had parked at Holy Family college—those eastbound on Newtown/Yardley Road—traipsed a good distance aross the plowed up corn rows. This was rough walking over the grassy ruts. Fortunately the fields were lighted by giant spotlights. We had to wait at least 45 minutes to move from our parking space, but it was well worth it! Despite many, many toddlers there we did not hear one fussy child! And in those weather conditions they had every right to be.

At the end there were wonderful fireworks with a bright display of red, white and blue at the finale. All the volunteers who planned and carried out this incredible rally did an absolutely amazing job. It was just phenomenal!

Thank you for that great report. I think the people at that rally are real broken glass Romney voters!
