For some reason he flipped the colors and indicates Blue for Republican and Red for Democrat.
The color scheme wasn't always defined the way it is now with GOP=red, Dem=blue. Before the 2000 election, blue was Incumbent party, red was Opposition party. The press called GOP forever red after 2000. I think it's supposed to be some sort of subliminal thing against Republicans.
Leip didn’t flip the colors, he has the colors correct. The media deliberately “flipped” the colors for 2000 to disassociate the historic color of leftism with the Democrats. Think of the absurdity of “going Red” with going Republican. We need to take back the color blue for the side of the good guys. The Democrats have well-earned the red color of leftist totalitarianism.
