Buried in Friday’s Bureau of Labor Statistics report on the country’s unemployment situation was this disheartening fact: 9,000 employees of the mining and resource extraction sector lost their jobs in October.

That brings total job losses in that sector to 17,000 since May, according to BLS.

Just as Obama planned. Wake up, coal producing states, and vote him out on Tuesday!

I recently drove a truck load of donated clothes and sundries (about 20,000#) to the community of Mill Creek, Ky for our church here in Lafayette, TN. It was like visiting a third world country. What Obama has done to the coal mining community is reprehensible. Of course a lot of them voted for him last time because of the unions. Maybe four years of substandard living has made them a bit more conservative.

We just laid off one half our work force.

The PTC has caused artificial boom a bust cycle.

We have been making wind turbine blades for 25 years and did quite well.

But the PTC was Governmental “help”. Just distorted the market.

That's not true. Very few of these miners are in the UMWA anymore and are mostly Conservative already. That's why Obama doesn't give a flip about them...

This is Kentucky during the 2008 election:

In 2008, Hussein himself told you miners he was going to shut you down but you voted for him anyway. How’s that working out for you now?

Sorry, we didn’t run into many Conservatives up there.
