The endorsements taken singly may not be important, even to readers. The fact there is consensus, piling on if you will, is news. The masses who don’t read the papers may feel the consensus as it permeates the news over the next two days.

Whether or not the endorsements have influence is not important. What is significant is that they are more a barometer of sentiment. If Obama has disappointed the liberal editors of newsrags, then he has disappointed a lot of democrats/liberals in general. Many of those people will either vote Romney or stay home. Obama is done.
