Obama Demonizes Tea Party in Final Days of Campaign

After failing to mention the Tea Party by name on the stump in 2012, President Barack Obama mentioned the movement during at least five stump speeches on Thursday and Friday.

Running against the Tea Party movement that successfully stymied his grassroots agenda and energized conservatives and independents to give Republicans in the House a majority, Obama said Mitt Romney would "rubber-stamp the Tea Party agenda in Congress."

Jenny Beth Martin, National Coordinator of Tea Party Patriots, said Obama was continuing to divide Americans by badmouthing "millions of grassroots" Tea Party activists across the nation.

"In a single speech today, our current President demonized Americans who have achieved the American Dream and badmouthed millions of grassroots Tea Party activists in every state in the nation," Martin said on Thursday. "If he spent as much time uniting Americans as he does dividing Americans and attacking them, his presidency might have been a success."

Politico reviewed a transcript of all of Obama's speeches and found Obama had only mentioned "tea party" once -- in a campaign appearance in Virginia in October -- on the stump in 2012 before this week.

I agree. I'm getting a mental picture of a guy who is sitting down with desperate campaign staffers every day and getting direction from them about which silly buzzwords and straw men he needs to use on the campaign trail that day.

Maybe by Monday he'll be running around telling everyone that Hurricane Sandy is George Bush's fault. "Yeah -- that worked back in 2005!"

It's not just a "base turnout message," it's a message for the base to turn out in Congressional and Senate elections, not the presidential election. I think the Tea Party has had almost no role in this presidential election, since Mitt Romney certainly would not have been their first choice -- and maybe not their second or third, either.

I'll say this again, folks ... I think Obama mailed this election in months ago -- and he's now just going through the motions to avoid a disastrous whipping for the Democrats in down-ticket races.

That’s what I meant. It’s a message to his base to get out and vote in order to minimize down ticket losses. I think Obama is basically admitting he knows he’s lost.

To me that is a “get out the vote” message - FOR ROMNEY.

He will rubber stamp a conservative, grass-roots agenda? Where do I sign up?

Oh, that is right, all I have to do is vote.

Oh yea! That strategy really worked out for them in the 2010 elections.

At least in St Louis, the Tea Party is looked upon blacks as a racist group. If Obama is bad-mouthing the Tea Party, he's out trolling for black votes. And if he has to scare up black votes at this late stage, it shows how many are planning on sitting this election out.

His lack of turnout from the black community is not the only reason he will lose, but it's one of the bigger factors.

“I just want the gay muslim commie who hates america, gone.”

It does not surprise me that the leader of the negro nazi party is demonizing the innocent.

That is what nazis do, like the original nazis did to Jews.

The propaganda ministry is doing a good job spreading the lie that the TEA party is racist.

The original nazis committed a holocaust with the help of their media spreading lies about Jews.

Speaks volumes that days before the election he’s demonizing the Tea Party in order to get his base out. Methinks Obama knows he is toast and is trying to minimize down ticket losses.
