My buddy on Long Island wants me to send a pistol. It will be sent to a house in Jersey. He will go to Jersey to get it. I do not want to break any laws but he believes he needs it and I want to send it. Suggestions?

Within the last year some poor guy from Colorado drove his car to New Jersey with his completely legal unloaded gun in the trunk.
I forget the details, but the gun was not registered in New Jersey, and the guy ended up in jail, facing a couple years in prison for driving with an unregistered gun.
