The 47% Should Especially Favor Romney/Ryan On Election Day
Forbes ^ | 11/03/2012 | Richard M. Salsman

Six months ago, in brief remarks at a private fundraiser, GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney expressed some chagrin that perhaps 47% of all adult Americans probably wouldn’t even consider voting for him, because they had grown so dependent on payments from the government, and because his opponent, President Obama, forthrightly advocated such dependence and, through policies, tried to intensify it.

Before looking more closely at Romney’s actual remarks, which were leaked on September 18th, and how they were twisted against him – not only by Obama’s usual left-wing lapdogs, but also by right-wing pontificates like Bill Kristol, David Brooks, Josh Barro, and Peggy Noonan – let’s look briefly at the facts of dependency on government.

Romney’s reference to 47% was fact-based, but perhaps he needn’t have been so chagrined.

In truth, people don’t always “vote their wallets,” but instead often favor what they believe is moral or fair, and even if they did vote their economic-financial interests, this year they’d be far better off favoring Romney-Ryan.

If it were true that people voted their wallets, they’d demand and vote for pro-capitalist policies and politicians, because logic and history make plain that the free economy is also the most prosperous one,

Yes, glad you posted this!(I was about to) The 47% are going to either get inflation or bad checks from Obama, we will no longer pay his bills as Starve the Beast 2.0 will ensure, like the TEA Party, no leaders, but millions of tax payers participate.

One traditional yardstick for gauging whether government is living within its means is spending as a percentage of GDP. Since the 1950s, federal spending as a percentage of GDP has hovered around 20 percent. When President Obama took office, it shot up to 25 percent, a level not seen since World War II.

Before the recession, the federal government spent $25,000 per household. That number has now soared past $30,000 and is on track to hit $35,000 within the next decade.

Mitt's Plan

Set Honest Goals: Cap Spending At 20 Percent Of GDP

And if you look at a chart of Tax Revenues to GDP, you'll see the first Starve the Beast period the revenue is down to 15%.

To the 47%, you've been told.(Of course though, not by the media).
