During the course of his long run for the presidency, Mitt Romney has consistently presented himself to voters as a "turnaround" artist, or as his supporters have taken to calling him recently, a "Mr. Fix-It."
In making his closing argument to voters that he should have that chance to take his government tool belt to Washington, Romney has vowed to "bring people together," to govern as president.
"I've got be able to reach across the aisle and get good Democrats and good Republicans to work together," the former Massachusetts governor told a crowd in Jacksonville, Florida, on Wednesday.
"My legislature was about 85% Democrat and it was not lost on me that to get anything done at all, and even to have my veto upheld, I had to have people across the aisle I could work with," he continued.

I hope he fixes things (in gov’t) by doing what businesses have had to do for years - cut cut cut cut cut. He said he likes to fire people - haha .. I hope he does.

Fire a Department or two (DoEd, EPA), and watch the others tremble.

The last thing we or Romney needs to do is dwell on the Obama disaster. Its a mess that needs to be cleaned up to be sure but we’ve got better than 50 years of bad policy that needs to be cleaned up.

If Romney did nothing but just get out of the way and stop regulations and role back some of the more egregious ones the economy will take off like a rocket. I hear a stat that small businesses are sitting on over 100 billion in cash, too afraid to expand or hire workers. Once this episode of MTV Raps is over in January, we can expect the wheels of our economic engine to creak to a start. Maybe by 4QTR 2013 we can be humming along by 4-6% again and UE really going down. Funny how God works, Obama out a spotlighting “green energy”, which turned out to be graft. It had one positive side effect, it changed the national narrative to geting serious about developing real energy at home. Millions of energy jobs and a crashing oil prices. Haha liberals the ACME safe will fall on you again..morons.

GWB made a similar vow and had a similar experience as Romney at the state level, but the “good democrats” in DC WON’T reach back.
We will have to remain engaged in government and make our down-ticket selections with this in mind.

Exactly and we better set the bar a whole lot higher than just overturning Obama policies. We need to set the bar higher and roll government itself back by several decades.

If Romney did nothing but just get out of the way and stop regulations and role back some of the more egregious ones the economy will take off like a rocket. Removing the stupid double tax on "repatriation" of profits trapped offshore (estimated at well over $1 Trillion) would help, too.

The fact that manufacturing is a taxable endeavor in itself is insane. Taxing a final product at the point of sale is acceptable but manufacturing is taxed again and again and again as a final product is produced to be taxed one more time.

Mitt has made it clear he is willing to work with them and they can't help themselves - 2013 might be a good year for popcorn.

Here in Michigan Pete Hoekstra is already using with the Harry Reid statement about democrats not working with Romney, against Stabenow.
I’m asking her on twitter several times per day if she intends to stand with obstructionist Reid or try to fix America.
