Glad to see them take a stand against lunacy.
Local property taxes support local schools.
This is a case study in how to turn a tough decision into a fiasco. Bloomberg delayed the decision until thousands of participants had flown in from all over the country, and a fair number from around the world. Not to mention a goodly number of friends, relatives, and spectators. The timing was tough, but the decision should have been made Wednesday.
He didn’t delay the decision. He decided it was on. And then the storm of popular objections broke over him, helped by the NY Post cover yesterday. He knew the city would be in deeper financial trouble if the race went on, with all the lawsuits from the runners who might be attacked by the people.
The whole thing was not pretty, as everyone always says.
Doing fine now; power went out Monday night, came back on Thursday afternoon. Flood water was less than a mile away on a major road; the local hospital had to be evacuated. Started to suffer from cabin fever on Wednesday, started going off while listening to Doomberg on the radio.
Have a couple of friends that were affected by the hurricane, and I really want to help them out.
I’m actually not sure, but I’d assume that people in the five boroughs vote for mayor.
