Does anyone recall if SI was under a manditory evac before Sandy hit ? It sure falls under Zone A catagory. Did they ignore the order ?
Midland Beach, New Dorp Beach, Greak Kills Harbor, Princess Bay, South East Eltingvill, South East Annadale, and Tottenville below Hyland Blvd were all in Zone A. Zone A received an madatory evacuation order but it was forced.
I litterally live a 1/2 block from a Zone A destroyed area, and we had one tree down, one leaning on another, and shingles all over. The wind was the worst Iv’e ever seen here, but the ground was dry. I was the surge that got everyone who was killed. Power Outages were mainly from downed trees. Nature is funny, all storms are different
