I mentioned in a previous post about a friend of mine who was born with ambigious parts and was forced to live as a gender that they weren’t wired for because of a doctor chose right after they born and chose the wrong way they found out about that later in life, but they told me a story that one of the things that really bothered them in school was having to use the shower room, because while they did look verly much like they were ‘supposed’ to look they knew they didn’t belong and they knew they didn’t belong in the other room either because their parts didn’t match what expected, in fact they didn’t use any sort of shower room like setting until AFTER they got their issue physically fixed.
Granted they are a minority of a minority.
But they have griped to me on many occasions about how the “Transgendered Community” has literally been taken over by those who are really crazy and those who have congenital type gender issues are constantly being pushed into the margins, sometimes shouted down or ignored completely. It is more about the political activism and less about dealing with people with actual issues.
