It's really stupid to chase away people trying to help.

People do some really crazy things when they get frustrated. Back in the summer when the bad storms knocked out power to pretty much all of West Virginia, Western Maryland and Virginia. There were stories about utility workers being shot at, their trucks vandalized, being harassed and assaulted because they were in a restaurant eating lunch (perp thought they should be working I assume). Even stories about people who had gotten their power turned back on having their lines cut down because someone thought it wasn't "fair" that they had gotten their power back first.

That’s sad for sure. After Katrina we could hear the power company coming our way. Day after day we were sure we would get power that day. One day I was outside and I saw a guy with the power company and I told him I would pray every day for him if he would get our power on. It was on the next day! Most probably it would have happened anyway but, it sure was nice to have air condition in the high 90 weather!
