What’s really sad is that between stories like this and Bloomberg diverting critical resources to the city’s Fun Run, a lot of people who would otherwise have donated or volunteered simply will not.

As I posted on one of the NYC marathon threads earlier today, good people like you have to endure almost unendurable jackasses in positions of power, and then you get a storm like Sandy on top of it to multiply the misery.
