‘This is a way, in my view, of incentivizing responsible parenting,’ Emanuel told a news conference at Field Elementary School, Ashland.

Emanuel said he got the gift card idea during one of his morning workouts: 'That’s what happens when I start swimming. I start coming up with ideas.'

Unbelievable!

Wish I could get a $25 gift card for picking up my kids’ report cards!!

Yeah, that’ll “incentivize us.”

To the contrary, I think he got water in his ears.

If parents need to be paid to pick up their kid’s report card, maybe they should have been paid not to have kids.

Wouldn’t it be cheaper to just mail parents the report card?

And after that, they’ll all be the most awesome parents ever. Idiot. Plus he is spending some more money that he doesn’t have.

I wish one of these UK papers would set up shop here because you NEVER EVER hear these stories in American news. Also, where is the school getting the money? Is this taxpayer money??

Our kid's grades get updated every weekend on the internet. Incentive to keep their TV/internet/phone privileges for the following week.

Hmmm. Even just $5 to review each week times three kids.... I'm in!

Except then the kids can grab it before the parents get home from work and hide it. Not that I would know anything about that! ;)

Hell yes!

I should get $25 when I force the little parasites to take out their own garbage, another $25 when they do their own laundry, and another $25 when they clean the kitchen after themselves!

Oh, and I want a free iPhone! Ain’t socialism great?

Hell, I rotated my truck tires last weekend. I want $25!

Beyond ridiculous.

Not only is there no shame anymore in being a slothful parent, the powers that be reward it. A major reason our culture is going to the dogs.

Our school district makes them available online. You don’t have a hard copy to take home at middle school and high school. As far as I know, the lower grades kids still take theirs home and bring it back signed by the parents.

Even cheaper would be to put the report cards online. Here, kids bring paper ones home and only bad grades have to be brought back signed. We also have them online so parents and kids can check individual homework grades and see if everything has been turned in. Easy peasy.

If parents can’t be bothered to ask their kids to show them their report cards, what makes anyone think those parents will make the effort to take time out of their day to drive to school.

So the little ballerina went swimming and came up with a cockamaimy idea. Goes to prove that he is “all wet” and has “water on the brain.”

He want to “incentivize responsible parents” with bribes? BS. If the parents were “responsible”, he wouldn’t have to bribe them to come get their kids’ report cards.

Forest Gump: “Stupid is as stupid does”.

I guess you could call giving bribes “the Chicago Way”. Why not? Everything else in Chicago is a criminal act from voter fraud to gangbanger mass shootings.

Remember, Obama chose a Chicago eduator to head the Dept. of Education. Another loser from the Windy City inflicted on America.

Hey Chicago. You voted for the marxist Mayor Washington, the political machine-controller Daley, the crook Blago, and now Mr. Tutu Emanuel. You get what you deserve, but don’t spend my money there. I’d rather throw it down a cesspool where it would do more good.

If you have to be paid to check your child’s report card, then nothing will make you a good parent.

Then why not 1000.00 to read it. and 10,000.00 to care? What Idiots.
