Helping? Red Cross said they do not need the canned goods. There is no one to sort them....no place to store them and no way to transport them. Did Romney listen??? He is pandering. Period.

Red Cross said they do not need the canned goods.

Oh, are they the only charity working there? Romney could create his own instant charity network if he wanted to. Talk about buying votes.

NO body needs the canned goods? You gotta be kidding. So those of us not in the disaster zone who wish to help are pandering?

What is with you?

So, if it doesn't go through the Red Cross it doesn't count? They do have the part about clearing credit cards and checks down pat. Go figure.

Red Cross says the same thing at every disaster. They need to STFU. The canned goods and bottled water will go to local churches and shelters and be distributed there.

When Houston had thousands of Katrina victims bussed in, there was definitely a need for food and clothes and there were easy places to drop off donations. Romney also encouraged donations to the red cross. The Red Cross can’t do it all on their own. There is nothing Romney could have done to make msnbc happy. They would have been all over him if he campaigned and all over him if he had done nothing. He chose to try and be useful.

Don’t be moronic. You think people displaced by this storm don’t need food? It will get to those that need it.

Did Romney say he was collecting for the Red Cross?

I bet if you told Romney he'd listen and stop all that pandering you say he's doing. Thanks for your support. /s

They were also collecting money, to go to the Red Cross.

And Who said that the canned goods, water, clothes and food
were going to just the Red Cross. There are other charitable
organizations that help out with this type of incident.
Matthew 25 ministries come to mind. They gladly accept all
donations.

Ya...supplies will just rain from the sky when Obama waives his wand.

Obama has ways to store, sort, and transport, unavailable to Romney..../sarc

We got hit in Virgina Beach several years ago by a hurricane which knocked out power for several days. Lots of folks from west of our position loaded up trucks with all kinds of things we needed by the third day. There was no fighting, no bickering and no problems. We lined up, they opened the doors to the trucks and they started giving out baskets full of canned goods, water and baby wipes. It was a beautiful thing. No way we could have gotten anything from the Red Cross in such a way. I sincerely appreciaited what those folks did for us.

Red Cross said they do not need the canned goods. ...F*** the RED CROSS! I’ve heard the food pantries, the Salvation Army and other community groups are begging for food, because of Obama. The red cross only wants money to funnel, slowly, down to where it is need. I wouldn’t give them the sweat form my b....brow. The Director wants a raise, probably.

Helping? Red Cross said they do not need the canned goods.

The American Red Cross President and CEO Marsha J. Evans' salary for 2011 was $951,957plus expenses.

True, the Red Cross doesn't need canned goods...BUT people will.

When has Obama ever helped anybody that he didn't think would help himself more?

The Red Cross needs money to pay their salaries and benefits.

Salvation Army helps people, not themselves.

Of course the Red Cross doesn’t want canned goods. That doesn’t put money in their pockets.

I haven’t donated to Red Cross since they were charging rescuers for cups of coffee in the Loma Prieta earthquake in ‘89. That was after I and millions of others donated money to make sure coffee(help)was available and free.
