Steve Jobs' yacht was unveiled in a Dutch shipyard on Sunday, where the unusual boat designed by Jobs and famed minimalist designer Philippe Starck was christened "Venus," after the Roman goddess of love, beauty, sex, fertility, prosperity and victory.
According to Dutch website OneMoreThing, the finished ship was launched at shipbuilder Koninklijke De Vries in Aalsmeer, The Netherlands. Jobs' widow Laurene and three of their children, Reed, Erin and Eve, were at the ceremony.
The Jobs family gave each of the members of the shipbuilding staff an elegant thank-you note, along with a token gift of their appreciation ? an iPod Shuffle with the name of the ship inscribed on the back.

I wonder if the Occupy punks and their heroes in the Democrat party will spew hatred for the late great Steve Jobs and his "greed". Look at that yacht, built for one man, and then consider HOW MANY HOMELESS people could be fed with the money it took to buy that vessel.

Well, the Jobs family did save money by giving out iPod Shuffles as thank-you gifts. They could have given away iPads...

You gotta give Jobs credit for this: he knows better than to trust his iProducts or his yacht to the union thug work force. He outsourced almost everything...

If a boat is a hole in the water into which one throws money, what would that mean about a yacht?

what would that mean about a yacht? Automatic withdrawal from your bank account - you never see the money.

That boat really is UGLY. I bet it’s very nice on the inside but from the outside it was a waste of money.

Looks like a Dutch canal boat. Either that or a new Apple retail store.

I’ve seen kids build similar looking craft from Legos. A little too utilitarian for me, and the superstructure doesn’t match nor compliment the hull...

I found a super-secret, unreleased picture of the wheel at the helm. It has turn port, turn starboard, all-ahead and "let's eat" buttons.

That is one ugly boat. He should have had Ives design it.

I get a huge chuckle from these obscenely rich leftists. They’re always willing to give someone the shirt off *my* back.

iBoat is one ugly piece of naval architecture. With all that flat glass facing forward it it obvious that this is one yacht that was never intended to put to sea. Any green water over the bow and those bridge windows would become big water scoops. Then iBoat would convert instantly into a U-Baot.

Jobs had always been a hard-core capitalist, covered with a thin hippy shell. MUCH more hard-core, for instance, than Bill Gates, who actually did have some charitable instincts, though not in the the area of doing business.
