The definition of terminally ill begins to encompass people with non-life threatening chronic pain, who could be treated with better palliative care, he warned. Death becomes an acceptable alternative to expensive treatment as health care budgets get strained. He nails it right there!

And “pain management” via morphine, inhibits a person’s ability to reflect, repent, and convert, in their final days and hours.
“pain management” is usually more for the squemish relatives, and NOT the patient.
Don’t bother with the “Well, if YOU....” critiques.
Too much personal and close family experience for that.
