Romney set to visit University of Miami this week [as Obama's support fading]

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney is heading to the University of Miami on Wednesday, according to his campaign.

The Romney visit will come just three days after a Miami Herald poll showed President Barack Obama’s numbers aren’t where they need to be in Miami-Dade, Florida’s most-populous county, if he wants to carry the Sunshine State.

To win Florida, Obama needs a big lead in Miami-Dade, where Democrats outnumber Republicans by 15 percentage points, 44-29 percent. Obama won Miami-Dade by a 16-point margin in 2008.

A Sunday Miami Herald poll, however, shows Obama is winning Miami-Dade by only 9 percentage points. As of Sunday morning, after the first day of in-person early voting, Democrats narrowly led Republicans in all 153,000 ballots (absentee and in-person) cast in Miami-Dade, 42-40 percent.

Romney’s strategy: Keep Obama from running up big numbers in Southeast Florida, the most liberal region of the state.

Romney is winning in conservative North Florida, and a Tampa Bay Times poll Sunday showed the Republican is carrying the center of the state, nicknamed the I-4 Corridor, 51-45 percent over Obama.

Yes.

We must have a GOP Senate. GOP House. GOP White House.

No excuses!

Ok, how dumb can black voters be? Sorry, but I’m just fed up with their collective mentality. It has nothing to do with the color of their skin; however, they claim to be Christians then vote for the most radical, anti-Christian man ever elected to office. Not to mention his infanticide and gay marriage stance.

I’m just furious at anyone who can’t see through this man.

In their case race trumps truth.

So do you think we can actually have a GOP Senate and House after this election ? And if we have a GOP Senate and GOP House but not a GOP White House, for whatever reason, what can we do from here ? I hope there are productive things that can be done other than simply ranting about how America is doomed to become like Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia or the Sudan or something. I share your concerns and passions, but helplessness, victimhood and hysteria won’t get mainstream American support for any side at this point.

This is the stuff they're left with:

"A Message From the Children"

Full lyrics:

Imagine an America
Where strip mines are fun and free
Where gays can be fixed
And sick people just die
And oil fills the sea

We don’t have to pay for freeways!
Our schools are good enough
Give us endless wars
On foreign shores
And lots of Chinese stuff

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

We haven’t killed all the polar bears
But it’s not for lack of trying
Big Bird is sacked
The Earth is cracked
And the atmosphere is frying

Congress went home early
They did their best we know
You can’t cut spending
With elections pending
Unless it’s welfare dough

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And we’re kinda blaming you

Find a park that is still open
And take a breath of poison air
They foreclosed your place
To build a weapon in space
But you can write off your au pair

It’s a little awkward to tell you
But you left us holding the bag
When we look around
The place is all dumbed down
And the long term’s kind of a drag

We’re the children of the future
American through and through
But something happened to our country
And yeah, we’re blaming you

You did your best
You failed the test

Mom and Dad
We’re blaming you!

My former party didn't like it because I dared to be decent to a new president

Being decent means having to support the election of the other party's nominee and abandoning your own party's nominee?

Obama has cancelled his trip to Florida.

The "president" believes he can sway more voters by being in "command" during the storm than he will by stumping (valiantly returning to D.C during a heated election campaign) in Orlando. As usual, it's all about Him.

The last two times, when OBumbler was here, I cut short my class at UM in the afternoon, telling them I didn’t want to deal with the traffic jams (there actually wasn’t much of that, but they knew how I felt).

Being a conservative on a university campus these days is a pretty lonely experience, and a lot of them don’t want to speak out or put Romney stickers on their cars for fear of vandalism (I had military stickers on my car for my two serving children,,, they were vandalized).

But, I think I’ll head on over and support Romney on Wednesday.

Many of them simply vote as they`re told by pastors, Al Sharpton, sports stars, etc.
