Wallace is as big a Democrat as his father was, only he has to temper it to keep his gig on Fox. That makes him even more loathsome.

It would really be hard today to be as liberal as Mike Wallace was in his (and liberalism's) heyday. Chris Wallace is basically a timid guy who keeps his head down. His father was brazen and unabashed. You can say the son isn't the man his father was, but if Mike were still alive and throwing his weight around, Chris's timidity might not look like such a bad thing.
