A spreadsheet created by a former member of the National Rifle Association board of directors points out numerous inconsistencies between how the powerhouse gun group rates political candidates as compared to their actual voting records and positions.
Russ Howard, who resigned his position in 1997 following irreconcilable disputes with association management, including over its Project Exile partnership with federal law enforcement, has a long history of exposing disconnects between what NRA tells its members about candidates and what their actual records are, having characterized the more blatant examples as Sleeping with the enemy and urging No more A grades for gun grabbers.
Howard, long-time readers will recall, has had the establishment try to destroy him over principles before. As this correspondent wrote in a GUNS Magazine column, [Howards] Californians Against Corruption recall effort was largely responsible for leading to the defeat of powerful Senator David Roberti, co-author of California's assault weapon ban. Naturally, media smears went into full gear. CAC was accused of white supremacist ties. Contributors began receiving threats. One officer's home was broken into and his guns were stolen. Another had his office broken into and telephone wires cut. And then the papers started identifying contributors.
Fearing for their safety, Howard made the required financial reporting to the state's Fair Political Practices Commission, but withheld names of contributors until after the recall, the column continued. In retaliation, the FPPC slammed Howard and CAC's treasurer with the largest administrative fine in its history, over $800,000.

Maybe some NRA booster would like to come in and explain this for us?
"Remember: Evil exists because good men don't kill the government officials committing it." -- Kurt Hofmann.
Where liberty dwells, there is my country." Benjamin Franklin
David Keene is a crook. Will sell anything to anyone. NRA has zero credibility with him as President.
“how the powerhouse gun group rates political candidates as compared to their actual voting records and positions”. Easily proven point.
Any group in this day that promotes candidates who have any issues with the Constitution of the United States should have their credibility questioned.
When Neal Knox had it with the NRA that was good enough for me.
I can’t say there has been any improvement. If anything, the perception is the NRA is not out for solutions to “shall not be infringed” but perpetuation of the fight.
