You have to parse the words these weasels use. CIA says they never told anybody NOT to help. Defense Dept. says they never got a request for assistance from State Dept. (does Hillary have to call Leon and ask for some special forces guys to save her people?) Now the POTUS office says ....”Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied any requests for assistance in Benghazi,........
Bottom line is they are parsing again. If you do not deny a request for help it is completely different than ISSUING an order to help. If you ask me if you can borrow $20 and I ignore you, you can’t say I denied your request.
And they have one more parse. “Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied any requests for assistance.”
Could also mean, “Neither the president nor anyone in the White House denied [there were] any requests for assistance [to the media].
See how easy that was? Or to add another, the President says to a State Dept official, “I am giving no order to engage” and the State Dept official [who is outside the White House] is the one who issues the denial of assistance. The CIA never got the request.
But your parse is the most likely - they sat and watched and ignored them.
